INTERNATIONALE PERCUSSIEWEDSTRIJD VOOR DE ¡JEUGD! 2022
The fourth edition of this biennale Percussion competition for the youth (IPYCB) takes place online on 22-23 August 2022. The Competition received the High Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Paola, a Royal honour for the first time presented to a Percussion Competition abroad. The aim is to enhance and to support musical talented youth present in the Belgian and international percussion scene. The competition promotes internationally the art of percussion in the disciplines of snare, drum set, marimba, vibes and xylophone at amateur and pre University level. It mainly focus to musicality and sonority and to discover young percussion talent.
De vierde editie van deze tweejaarlijkse percussiewedstrijd voor de jeugd (IPJCB) vindt plaats online op 22-23 Augustus. Deze wedstrijd ontving de Hoge Bescherming van Hare Majesteit Koningin Paola, een Koninklijke eer voor de eerste maal uitgereikt aan een internationale percussiewedstrijd. Het doel is om jong talent te supporteren in het Belgische en internationale percussieveld. De wedstrijd is opgericht ter niveaubewaking van het percussieonderricht in het DKO en KSO, als internationale promotie van de percussiekunsten in de disciplines van kleine trommel, drums, marimba, vibrafoon en xylofoon op amateur niveau en ter voorbereiding voor verdere universitaire studie. Er wordt voornamelijk aandacht besteed aan de muzikaliteit en sonoriteit en in het ontdekken van jong percussietalent.

Registration - registratie
The registration need to be done before May 1st, 2022.
In case the candidate wish to apply for both disciplines (rhytmic and keyboard), it will be required to send in two seperated applications. For candidates under the age of 18, the registration form must be completed by a parent.
De inschrijvingen vinden plaats voor 1 Mei 2022. Voor kandidaten onder de 18 jaar is een handtekening van de ouders vereist. Indien de kandidaat wenst deel te nemen voor beide disciplines (ritmisch & keyboard), dan is het vereist twee aparte inschrijvingen in te sturen.

- Round One: The 1st round video performances will be evaluated by the jury and announced on August 22nd, 2022 at the Cultural Centre de Bogaard.The performances will appear by discipline and in alphabetical order. The jury will select for each category 3 finalists (total 12 finalists).
- Final round: The 1st round video performances of the finalists will be handled again for jury evaluation of the the ranking winning Positions. The results will be announced during the Gala proclamation on August 23th, 2022 at the Academic Hall.
- Eerste Ronde: De video uitvoeringen van de eerste ronde worden geevalueerd door de jury op 22 en 23 augustus 2022 in het Cultureel Centrum de Bogaard. de uitvoeringen worden gepresenteerd per discipline en in alfabetische volgorde. De jury selecteert 3 finalisten per categorie / discipline (totaal 12 finalisten).
- Finale Ronde: De eerste ronde video uitvoeringen van de finalisten worden opnieuw geëvalueerd voor het toekennen van de prijzen. De resultaten worden aangekondigd tijdens de Gala proclamatie in de Academiezaal op 23 augustus, 2022. .

The candidates need to send by email before August 1st, 2022 one copy of the sheet music of all performed pieces.
It is required to indicate on each score the full name and your category A or B.
De kandidaten moeten voor 1 augustus 2022 per Email 1 kopie van de partituren van de uitgevoerde werken toezenden. Het is vereist de volledige naam en jouw categorie A of B extra te vermelden op elke partituur.

Repertoire - repertorium
Freely chosen works for snare, drum set, vibes, marimba, vibes and/or xylophone.
It is allowed to perform original works as well as arrangements and transcriptions.
The works can be performed solo or with piano accompaniment and/or tape.

Het is toegelaten om originele composities, bewerkingen en/of transcripties uit te voeren.

Evaluation - beoordeling
The 1st Prize will be awarded to candidates who will get a score from 95/100.
