INTERNATIONALE MARIMBA WEDSTRIJD VOOR DE ¡JEUGD! 2024
The fourth edition of this biennale competition for the youth MARIMBA SOLO and DUO will take place again Live on November 1-2, 2024. The Competition received the High Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Paola, a Royal honour for the first time presented to a Marimba Competition abroad. The aim is to enhance and to support musical talented youth present in the Belgian and international percussion / marimba scene. The competition promotes internationally the art of marimba at amateur and pre University level. It mainly focus to musicality and sonority and to discover young marimba talent.
De vierde editie van deze tweejaarlijkse wedstrijd voor de jeugd MARIMBA SOLO en DUO vindt weer plaats Live op 1-2 November 2024. Deze wedstrijd ontving de Hoge Bescherming van Hare Majesteit Koningin Paola, een Koninklijke eer voor de eerste maal uitgereikt aan een internationale marimba wedstrijd. Het doel is om jong talent te supporteren in het Belgische en internationale percussie / marimba veld. De wedstrijd is opgericht ter niveaubewaking van het onderricht in het DKO en KSO, als internationale promotie van de marimba kunsten op amateur niveau en ter voorbereiding voor verdere universitaire studie. Er wordt voornamelijk aandacht besteed aan de muzikaliteit en sonoriteit en in het ontdekken van jong marimba talent.

Registration - registratie
The registration need to be done before September 1th, 2024.
For candidates under the age of 18, the registration form must be completed by a parent.

The candidates need to bring along by registration two copies of the sheet music of all performed pieces.
It is required to indicate on each score the full name and your category A or B.
De kandidaten moeten twee kopijen van de uitgevoerde werken bezorgen bij de registratie.
Het is vereist de volledige naam en jouw categorie A of B extra te vermelden op elke partituur.

Competition round - wedstrijd ronde

- Round One: The Competition round will be evaluated in the Emperor Hall by the Jury on November 1st, 2024. The performances will appear in alphabetical order. The jury will select for each category 3 finalists (total 6 finalists).The ranking winning results will be announced during the gala proclamation on November 2nd, 2024.
- Eerste Ronde: De eerste ronde wordt geëvalueerd door de jury op 1 November 2024 in de Keizerszaal. De uitvoeringen worden gepresenteerd in alfabetische volgorde. De jury selecteert 3 finalisten per categorie / (totaal 6 finalisten). De winnende resultaten worden bekend gemaakt tijdens de gala proclamatie op 2 November.

The 1st Prize will be awarded to candidates who will get a score from 97/100.

Registration fee has to be paid before the deadline of September 1st, 2024 by bank transfer in order to guarantee your participation. Bank cheque will not be allowed. After registration, all candidates will receive a registration number.
